Getting advice

If you’re looking for the support of a qualified expert to set your goals and help you achieve them, you’ve come to the right place. Our advice menu offers plenty of options to help you achieve a great life after work.

What is financial advice?

Financial advice is about getting an expert to use their knowledge and experience to build long-term financial plans, personalised for your circumstances, goals and desires.

No matter where you are in your working life, there are things you can do with your super that will make a real difference to your life after work. Some of these actions will be simple, taking only a few minutes. Some people may also find that they do a great job reaching their investment and retirement goals on their own.

But if you don’t have clear goals for your financial future or an idea of the best strategies to help you get there, expert advice can make a huge difference.

Your advice options

You can never have enough good advice, but knowing what type of advice best fits your needs is an important step in the financial advice journey. From general information, including the Retire Ready meetings, to personalised phone-based and comprehensive advice, the choice is yours. You can also access online personalised investment advice on your super savings online with GoalTracker® Plus.

GENERAL ADVICE OPTIONS

General information and advice is about helping you understand super and related topics but doesn’t take into account your personal circumstances or needs.

What is general information?

It’s a great way to find out more about your benefits, rates and rules, and investments related to your super.

Just remember, general advice doesn’t take your goals, personal/financial circumstances or retirement needs into account.

Who is it best suited for?

If you don’t know where to start, general advice could give you a general understanding of where things are at with your super, insurance and investments.

How much does it cost?

Offered at no cost to you—no hidden fees, commissions or commitments.

What are Retire Ready meetings?

This is a one-on-one Retire Ready meeting with a Retirement Consultant, where you can receive general information.

Retire Ready meetings are designed to give the information and support to help you understand your options, as you approach retirement.

Who is it best suited for?

Retiring in the next five years? Get clarity on your income options, and how to take advantage of age-based super rules while still working.

How much does it cost?

Offered at no cost to you—no hidden fees, commissions or commitments.

PERSONAL ADVICE OPTIONS

Personal financial advice is about getting an expert to use their knowledge, skills and experience to offer advice and support that is personalised for your circumstances, goals and desires.

What is RetireAssist?

RetireAssist is a personal financial advice service, that offers more than simple phone advice but is a cost-effective alternative to comprehensive advice. Delivered over the phone, RetireAssist can cover a broad range of topics like estate planning, debt management and strategic advice, and can take into account your partner’s super. Assistance with applying for the Age-Pension via Centrelink is also available as an add-on service.

Who is it best suited for?

It’s specifically designed for those members within 12 months of retirement (or who have already retired).

How much does it cost?

The cost to you will depend on the nature and complexity of the advice but will be significantly lower than accessing a more detailed ‘comprehensive advice’ option. Any costs will be agreed by you with your adviser prior to proceeding.

What is Simple Phone Advice?

It is all about getting targeted, personalised advice on how to maximise your super. It’s a great way to get help with specific topics like investment strategy, making contributions insurance, setting up a pension or transition to retirement.

Who is it best suited for?

Not sure where to start? It’s for those wondering: ‘Am I making the most of my super?, ‘Is my super invested in the right strategy?’ or ‘Is my super on track?’

How much does it cost?

This service is at no additional cost to you, in most cases. Any cost will be discussed and agreed prior to proceeding. No hidden fees, commissions or commitments.

What is comprehensive advice?

This is all about personal financial planning, where you will receive advice that takes your full financial picture, including investments outside super, into account.

Who is it best suited for?

If you’re looking for tailor-made advice, look no further than comprehensive advice. We can refer you to a financial adviser on our panel to help you meet your goals.

How much does it cost?

Your first meeting is complimentary, with a fee-for-service model applying after that to be discussed and agreed with your adviser prior to proceeding–meaning no surprises.
